How it all started...
Abiding Word Family Ministries was birthed in August 1996 when Pastor Sam Gourdine, at the leading of the Holy Spirit, became the Pastor and Founder of the ministry in his home in Pinopolis, South Carolina. Alongside his wife, three children, and two nephews, he began teaching and building a faith community committed to impact, integrity, and excellence. This ministry was established on the foundation of John 15:7 — “If you abide in me and my word abides in you, you shall ask what you will and it shall be done unto you.”
In April 1997, the ministry left its birthplace and relocated to a rented building in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. It was there that Pastor Sam faithfully continued to preach the uncompromised Word of God, leading the church through a season of spiritual, financial, and numerical growth.
After three years, Abiding Word Family Ministries purchased six acres of land to establish a permanent home. The property became the site for the church’s main sanctuary, the Jehovah Jireh Building, the AW Kidz building for children’s ministry, and a beautiful gazebo for gatherings and fellowship. Over time, additional acres were acquired nearby for the future development of a church cemetery.

Today, Abiding Word Family Ministries continues to thrive as a growing, faith-driven community dedicated to building people of impact, integrity, and excellence. Every Sunday at 10:00 AM and Wednesday at 7:00 PM, the sanctuary is filled with believers hungry for the Word of God and passionate about walking in purpose.
The church campus now spans approximately 10 acres, featuring the main sanctuary, the AW Kidz building for children’s church, the Jehovah Jireh Building , and a peaceful gazebo for fellowship and special gatherings. In addition, a nearby property with several more acres has been acquired for the ongoing development of a church cemetery.

As Abiding Word Family Ministries continues to grow, our vision remains firmly rooted in building people of impact, integrity, and excellence. We are committed to advancing the Kingdom of God by expanding our reach and deepening our service to both our church family and the surrounding community.
Looking ahead, our plans include the development of a Family Life Center to serve as a hub for fellowship, education, and outreach. We envision establishing a School of Ministry to equip and empower believers for leadership and effective ministry, as well as a dedicated Worship Center to enhance our corporate worship experience.
In addition, we aim to launch an After-School Program designed to support and mentor local youth, alongside expanding the services of the Jehovah Jireh Care Unit to meet the practical and spiritual needs of those in our community. Every initiative is fueled by our desire to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit and make a lasting, positive impact in the lives of those we’re called to serve.
